Love in Disguise owner and chef Uzma Sharif was born to cook. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, a prominent pastry chef in Pakistan, Uzma combined her passion for cooking with her knowledge of the world to create Love in Disguise, a line of chocolate with influences from the East, manifested especially in her variety of beautiful, custom designed boxes. Her taza truffles (taza means "fresh" in Hindi) exemplify everything Uzma has learned about fresh ingredients and quality preparation, resulting in pure, simple flavors that will "wow" your senses.
Chef Uzma studied traditional French cuisine at Colorado Mountain Culinary Institute. After working in several restaurants as head chef and lead pastry and garde manager, Uzma returned to school in 2003 at the French Pastry School in Chicago, Illinois. There she received the prestigious L'Art de la Patisserie certificate and went on to serve as an assistant to a master pastry chef. Her impressive education and work experience served Uzma well as she prepared for the World of Chocolate AIDS benefit in Chicago, where she won best in show.
