In the small village of San Mattia on the southern coast of Italy, the family tradition of marinating fruit continues with the youngest son. Paolo hand-picks fresh ripe apricots from the orchard, selecting only the finest fruit to be used in their desserts. He slices and dries the apricots, letting the sun bake goodness into every piece. Once the fruit is dry, Paolo spoons it into tall glass jars which his mother fills with the secret recipe, part Disaronno amaretto and part magic. Each day he rotates the jars to coat the succulent fruit. At the end of three weeks, the apricots are plump with liqueur and ready for baking.
Dolcielo (Italian for “sweet heaven”) believes in following these time-honored traditions. Our brownies are all natural and made with the highest quality products and premium liqueurs. We spare no expense, using Guittard chocolate, unbleached King Arthur wheat flour, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, pure cane sugar, fresh creamery butter. Please refrigerate or freeze the brownies upon arrival.
Brownies for Adults come in half-dozen and dozen gift boxes in five delicious year-round flavors are: Amureo – apricot with Disaronnno amaretto and almonds; Bellasanti – cherry with Cherry Heering and pecans; Celesola – pineapple with Bacardi Gold rum and macadamia nuts; Donamato – plum with Kahlua Especial (coffee liqueur) and walnuts; and Divina – the unadulterated brownie without fruit, nuts or liqueur for the pure chocolate lover. Our holiday flavor, Elegrazia – cranberry with Triple Sec (orange liqueur) and walnuts – is available in mid-October.
