Just off Africa's southeastern coast is the island of Madagascar. Here, the unique climate and soil create some of the best growing conditions for cocoa on the planet. We actually make our chocolate from scratch (bean to bar) in Madagascar. This means every step of our process happens close to the source and our cocoa beans only spend a month between harvest and manufacturing. It also means the people of Madagascar benefit more (4x) from their own natural resources.
Madécasse was inspired by our Peace Corps experiences in Madagascar.
