Well-known Italian chocolatier Pernigotti was founded in 1860 by entrepreneur Mr. Stefano Pernigotti, in the Italian city of Novi Ligure. There he began production of torrone, a traditional Italian confection made from honey and nuts, also known as nougat. The line was soon extended to include the chocolates offered here today including such favorites as hazelnut creams, coffee creams and chocolate dipped hazelnuts.

Recipes from the company's beginning in 1913 are being used, and even some of the vintage equipment is being brought back into service. In 1984 the Archibald Candy Co. retired the brand, but the recipes were passed down to Dan Abel of the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company. His company brings them back for us today.
