Perugina Baci
An Italian confection tradition, Perugina began in 1907 in the Umbrian hill town on Perugia. The young heir to Perugina, Giovanni Buitoni and confectioner Luisa Spagnoli created an exceptional collection of fine chocolates that have withstood the test of time. In 1922, Luisa created Perugina's signature chocolate, Baci or "kisses" in Italian. Legend has it that Luisa and Giovanni were secretly in love, and communicating their passion through love notes wrapped around confections.
