About Bidwell Candies
Bidwell Candies was started by the founder Virgil Bidwell in 1920 out of his garage. He had a passion for chocolate and wanted to share that with others. He ran the business for several years then moved it to a storefront sometime in the 1930's. He and his family ran the business for many years. His daughter took over and carried on the tradition for over 25 years. Bidwell candies has been a local icon since its conception. 90-percent of the materials used are original: copper kettles, marble slabs, etc. The concept is still the same as well as the recipes used. All chocolates are handmade and hand-packed in the USA. Every day is a fun day in the chocolate world. It is very rewarding to create something out of simple ingredients and we love coming to work!!Bidwell Candies is located at 1610 Broadway, Mattoon, IL 61938 United States.
