About The Product
Choclatique's Ecuadorean Origin is made from the centuries-old, Ecuadorean Nacional Arriba cacao beans grown solely in Ecuador. This single-origin chocolate offers a perfumed floral scent and traditional Nacional taste which is recognized by its complex accents of green mossy forest, rich black tea, subtle roasted nut after-tones, lingering tropical banana and light toasty caramelized buttery notes. This chocolate is dark, round, hearty and robust, yet calm in the mouth and relaxing in the mind. The flavors of pure cacao come through with slight caramelized tones that are easy on the palate, yet strong enough to convey its dark essence. Ecuadorean cacao beans are a shade-grown crop, so no forests need to be cleared for planting. This cacao is native to the Amazon Basin and has been cultivated by the inhabitants of the Ecuadorean rain forest for 40 years. The growing season runs from March through July. After harvesting the beans are transported by canoe down the Napo River to the town of Agua Santa where they then head state-side to Choclatique.
