Our rare Vintage Hawaiian Mauna Loa Milk Chocolate (38% Cacao) is rich, soft and gentle like a Hawaiian breeze. Mild, milky chocolate and fresh dairy top notes are laced with vanilla and a light butterscotch halo with modest tropical fruit highlights.
Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. where cacao can be grown. The tropical climate, tropical breezes and bright sunshine allow the finicky cacao plants to thrive. To date, most of the cacao grown in Hawaii has been from the Big Island although recently there are areas being developed on the islands of Oahu and Kauai.
