Nearly One Pound of Sugar Free Belgian Chocolate Truffles by Telluride Truffle of Telluride, Colorado
"I never thought I would ever carry a "sugar free" assortment until I found this sugar free Belgian chocolate. I can barely taste a difference from my truffles that have sugar" says Patty Denny, owner and chocolatier of Telluride Truffle. The regular assortment of truffles were reviewed by Kris Browning, Food editor for the Denver Post as "the best truffles I've tasted." Granted, she wasn't talking about the sugar free truffles, but as I said, I can barely taste the difference. These truffles are made with high grade Belgian chocolate, organic Colorado cream and no preservatives or artificial flavors. The chocolate is sweetened with "Maltitol" as the sugar substitute. If you are giving these to a diabetic, check with their doctor to see if this is a approved substance for them. The FDA does not allow food providers to claim that any food is safe for a diabetic - only a doctor can make that claim. There are 14 large hand-made truffles in both milk and dark chocolate each weighing about 1 ounce each. They are triangular in shape in honor of the mountains that surround Telluride, a Colorado town that stands at 10,000 feet.
