In 2006 Coppeneur became one of only a handful of chocolate makers who create premium single plantation and premium single origin chocolate. Coppeneur purchases cocoa beans directly from the farmer. This close relationship ensures Coppeneur visits the plantations, allowing for inspection of the beans, cultivation methods, fermentation/drying techniques and working conditions of the employees.Coppeneur is also a cocoa grower.
