These truffles are truffles in the full extent of the word. They are not "bon bons" mislabeled as truffles. They look, taste, and feel the part. The chocolate is an excellent bittersweet variety, with truffle consistency, and with powdered chocolate on the outside. The presentation was impressive as well. First of all, shipping was fast. I placed order on 1/11, and received product on 1/14. The box was wrapped with insulated bubble wrap to prevent melting. We received our order today just as the estimated date of arrival expected. The fudge is divinely rich. Just a little satisfies. It is extremely smooth unlike some fudge that can be costly yet has a sugary gritty texture. I would recommend this sampler to any who has not tried Mackinac products. Next, I would like to try vanilla fudge. Since we are retired this will be one of our special treats since the product must be sent via Fedex to ensure freshness and increases our cost. The chocolates are tasty with many strange flavor combinations. The box it arrived in was very fancy and it was packed in ice to keep the chocolates from melting. Unfortunately, the delivery person left the chocolates in my driveway in the sun. All the ice packs were warm by the time I came across the package but luckily the chocolates didn't melt. These brownies were DELICIOUS. Surprisingly fresh and very fudgy. The chocolate went very well with raspberry buttercream and made for an amazing taste.
