I'd never heard of Gnosis Chocolates, so figured when I had a gift certificate I'd try something completely new to me. Oh. My! Amazing! Oh my! The heat was just enough to feel it perfectly with a glass of red wine. The added fruit and nuts added the sweet chew that helped prolong the depth of flavor.
I had expected the lack of dairy to create a dearth of cooling that good chocolate often creates on your tongue. I was shocked in the best possible of ways when it provided the perfect in the mouth melt and subsequent temperature drop that increased the flavor sensation. The heat, though touted as intense, was not intense in the least and most closely resembled an addition of flavor rather than a trip through taste torture.
I recommend this chocolate for those of us who want a flavor experience in addition to an amazing chocolate base. The foundation of this bar is far above average, their addition of the heat (and sweet) is clever and sets this producer's product above most other chocolates. The fact that it's vegan is simply the non-dairy icing on the gluten free cake. - Lauren Dowell
